Minor League Rosters

Spoke with the Nationals and was told that minor league rosters will likely be announced this weekend. I’ll keep everyone posted on the information and post it once I receive it.

You have Chris Duncan listed as the DH for Syracuse, and Kevin Mench as the LF. That doesn’t bode well for Duncan making it back to the big leagues. Do you think the Nats are giing Mench a better opportunity to be an OF callup if someone gets injured or plays poorly?

PHS – I would not read too much into my assignation of players. It’s more an imprecise guess.

I have a feeling that a few surprises will be coming. Gut feeling that Potomac & Harrisburg will win championships this year.

Syracuse looks pretty strong if they keep the better fielders there like Daniel. Davis? Tavares was supposed to be a center fielder. Hope that will still be the case and the Nats pull of a trade or get someone off the waiver wire. Not sure he is the best choice for right field on any MLB team at this point.

We do know that Rafael Martin is going to serve as “set up” for Drew Storen in Harrisburg. Continues to look like favored prospects will appear there with veteran depth in SYR. The Post Standard appeared to echo that.

RHP Rafael Martin assigned to Washington Nationals.

Found this transaction dated today. Does this mean he is on the 40-man?

peric – No, that usually means he was part of a traveling team. If you scan some of the transactions, you’ll see quite a few “Player” was assigned to Washington Nationals.

Brian ( and all) happy easter! Doesn’t Potomac seem overloaded with everyday players on your projected depth chart? granted AAA/AA usually play under manned until draft week when promotions tend to kick in. No, Brian, you are not nuts. out of the box is good!

I can’t wait to see how the 2 minor league rosters in Syracuse and Harrisburg level out. Have to admit that seems more exciting than the current big league roster.

    can’t wait! Go Suns!

Maybe the suns can be a decent team this year in the sally league. I don’t think this is going 2 be a league that has a lot of talent in 2010

mcgalinmd, do u go 2 many suns games? If so, I’ll have 2 meet u and talk some baseball. Thsi season has 2 be better than last year.

I heard Daniel and Davis were headed to AA. The Harrisburg roster should be very good this year.

Good for the roster. Bad for them as players.

I am still trying to get an official word on the rosters

In any event, this is better than 2 years ago when everyone was injured and we were trying to find guys to move up. Now there is some argument that guys are playing below the level where they belong. Times are changing and I look forward to a great minor league year!

    Brian,

Any word as to any players that were a surprise in Spring or on the other side of things had a bad spring compared to what was expected?

Chris: Yes, I have 2 season tickets and sit in section K. Come on over – watch baseball with the Third Base Rowdies!
