Thanks for the update Brian. I hate when life gets in the way of the good stuff.

How long do you think that it will be before we cut Willems (and Smoker for that matter)? I don’t think that either of them make it to June in our system. So much potential…

Brian, any thoughts re why Nats management seems to favor Maxwell, who doesn’t appear to be a major league hitter, over Bernadina, who seems ready?

Any word on how long Boomer and D. Norris will be out?

Thanks, teach, for the updates; the links are especially useful for the background on these people we keep following. It’s a pain when unimportant things like work and income get in the way of what’s important, like NFA. Richard took the words right out of my mouth. Bernadina is absolutely raking while Maxwell has (unfortunately ) returned to his offensive level. Time for a switch!

Seems being the key word, regarding Bernadina. Maxwell’s shown more power potential and has a better arm, things that generally are deemed desirable for a right-fielder. Maxwell’s been touted by scouts as a player that will need 500PA and a team willing to be patient with him, so therein may lie the answer.

Then again, I’m one of those weirdos that believes in larger sample sizes than 25 or 50 PA.

What is happening in Potomac? Five guys on the DL, two others suspended & now Pecina is on the Restricted list. Speaking of the suspensions, any word on the why or for how long?

I was going to counter the love for Bernadina with a plug for Kevin Mench, but then I looked at the numbers. Bernadina is doing better on AVG, OBP and slugging, and almost certainly is better at defense. Even still, I think Mench is making a decent case for himself, and I think we may well see him in DC sometime this year.

    I heard Pecina retired

Thanks for the updates Brian, no worries on the delay.

In case you missed it yesterday, I launched a new website (not finished yet), a minor league baseball database. Here is the Nats page:

Bernadina had another good game and the Chiefs win in walkoff fashion 4-2. Walkoff HR for Whitesell, just what the doctor ordered from the AAAA specialist.

Saw that Hood had another strong day at Hagerstown with 4RBI in a Suns win. His progression so far is a real bright spot for the organization because we need some upside high schoolers to pan out offensively at some point if we are going to be taken seriously as an organization.
