Baseball America has their latest minor league transactions online. The release of LHP Odalis Perez was known, but the Nationals made a signing that’s new … inking LHP David Williams
Here is what Baseball America had to say
Williams, 29, spent the 2008 season in Japan, starting seven games for Yokohama of the Central League. He went 2-2, 4.26 with eight strikeouts and four walks in 15 1/3 innings. Williams last was seen in the U.S. pitching for the Mets, who traded righthander Robert Manuel to the Reds to obtain his services in May 2006. Actually, Williams last was seen in Triple-A after he got a late start to the ‘07 season because of offseason surgery to repair a herniated disc in his neck.
Seems another spot starter at the major league level or potential member of the Chiefs rotation.

I remember him starting a game with the Reds against Billy Traber.
That’s one of the times that FRobby went on full-on meltdown, yanking Traber in the second inning, bringing in an over-worked Gary Majewski.
Williams had nothing, and they rallied hard, but fell short.

Does anyone have leads on the 14 Dominican players that have been released?

7 starts and 15 -1/3 innings, I hope that’s a typo.

I would say that David Williams probably has more former Buc associations in natworld than reds. that Tony LaCava candle is lit for the entire summer….
