Anyone know why Eury Perez hasn’t been showing up in the boxscore lately…

From Jim callis chat
Darren (New York)
HI Jim, Derek Norris has eye-popping numbers for Hagerstown (21HRS, .416/.595/1.001). Is he a legit prospect or should a 20-year-old be tearing up the Sally League? Thank you.
Jim Callis (2:15 PM)
Oh, he’s a very legit prospect. The defense needs more work than the offense, but he’s not old for the SAL. He received strong consideration for the Futures Game.

I had a feeling something was up when Derek was still on the team and batting last night. Good for us suns fans – but i’m sure Derek’s not happy! He deserves to get out of Hagerstown….

did Norris not get sent up because Dmitri Young got sent down?

Was at Waterfront Park in Trenton last and except for the large number of Yankee fans it was a great experience. Senators owner & staff were there as well. Sens reps played well with 2 scoreless innings & Lowrance’s 2-RBI hit.

No, the information I received was wrong. The news of his promotion was incorrect from the start.

Any word on Javi Herrera or who will be removed from the Harrisburg roster with Sean Rooney moving up?

Brian – Is it official that Carr is being converted to starter? He was actually semi-effective last night, allowing just the HR to the Lynchburg LF (some guy named Milledge – keep an eye on him he could make the majors) and went 5 innings and touched 95 a few times.
Unfortunately, fan favorite Oz Rod was wild and easily frustrated, like the folks on NJ. Jewett wisely went after him when he started gesturing to the umps.

I must not have been keeping up. I thought Adam Carr was a reliever, looked at as a possible closer. Am I thinking of the wrong person?

Baseballamerica talks about how the 2009 first round guys(that has already signed) are doing so far in the minors. They said Drew Storen had gotten off to a slow start but now he’s overwhelming hitters in the SAL with his 93-94 fastball and his plus slider.

Dmitri Young was not with Potomac last night. Maybe just a one game stint?

Half St. – You are thinking of the correct person. Remember, this is the Nationals and pitchers morph into different roles depending on the whims of various coaches, coordinators, etc.

Yes it is the same 25 year old Adam Carr who imploded last year ans is plain bad this year in A ball. Starting may be his last chance at having a longer career in the minor lragues. Would not be surprised to see him cut loose by the Nats. He was very good in 2007, but has been real bad since. Same could be said for the enigmatic Zinicola.

Norris is a legit prospect. 20 is actually a bit young for a SAL catcher, most of them are 22 or 23. He can hit very well, has power, and has a great arm. His defensive skills are a little bit unpolished, but he’s getting better by the day. (I think having Reagan here really helps him with that, as Reagan is a very good defensive catcher).

Norris should be in Potomac and the hole at Potomac is for Norris. I don’t know who he upset or what he did to delay the call-up but I am sure he will be there very soon.
