He’s been used as both a starter and reliever, do we know what the Nationals want to do with him? BA calls him a “poor man’s Brian Fuentes.” Pretty high praise, but is he that good? How close is he to major league ready?

Apparently the Nats did get Garate to complete the Belliard deal

and expo_ram, the Nats have first crack at players on waivers in the NL

Clearing waivers is a little misleading since we have first claim on him (since he is from an NL team) due to our record.

Or am I crazy?

Also, do we get first claim on ALL players, or once we use one claim we bump down the list?

Speaking of PsTBNL, have the Nats received a player from the Padres in return for Mike O’Connor, or was that compensation contingent — and therefore no longer forthcoming given that O’Connor lasted less than a month in the Padres organization.
