Is it that hard to learn how to become a reliever? Colome is a long list of relievers who were over used and burned out ie Rivera, Ayala, Rauch. This is a trend now in the MLB protect your high dollar starters burn out disposable noncloser relievers. If Hanrahan gets his slider over consistently to keep the batters honest (something he hasn't done this year) he is a low end reliever. If he learns to control both pitches he becomes a high end reliever. I do not think he will ever have that control and I defiantly don't think he will every have the mindset of a closer. When Olsen comes up (and he will whether you want him to or not) someone will need to be sent down. Stammen intrigues as a bullpen arm throws strikes and has a "good" sinker and can pitch once through a line up, and then you can DFA Colome.</p> Glad Clippard finally got the chance not sure why it took so long?
