Live Blogging Strasburg

I’m home today so I will fortunately get to watch Strasburg’s debut live.

I’ll do my best to post what I see on ESPN in this thread.

Strike out of first batter

Flyout to left

Couple pitches in dirt so far

Two strikeouts in first inning. Second strikeout on ball out of zone

Ballpark guess of pitches in first inning … 12 or so

Apparently has given up two hits and ESPN goes to commercial mid-inning ::sigh::

ESPN’s “live” look-in stinks

This seems like something that would have been ideal for the MLB Network

He gave up a couple of hits and a run

And there is little of worth from Steve Phillips

SHOW the video of it

Well, that was useless. Thankfully Amy Shipley of the Washington Post was there so we can get some information

I hate the camera angle ESPN is showing.

Welcome back Brian, hope Hawaii was marvelous. What island did you visit?

He looks really good. I’m not sure who they are versing, but he kept them in line. Philips may be right in that strat needs to learn to but the ball more in the zone.

Aloha, Brian welcome back and thanks for picking Todd as your designated pinch hitter. He did a great job! Sorry you had to leave paradise for this, but please keep up the good work. AFL is coming and the cold hard winter of baseball is here to be broken up eventually by hot stove etc and so on… Go Nats, Chiefs, Senators, P-Nats, Suns, Lake Monsters, GCL Nats…

I was behind home plate filming Strasburg’s start handheld with my camcorder through the net. It’s not slick but it gets the point across.

The video link is on the SpaceCoastBaseball.com. home page.
