It hasn’t got a lot of notice but the Harrisburg Senators have been playing very well lately and one of the biggest reasons is their bullpen. Everts, Spradlin, Wilkie, and Kown all have ERA’s under 3.00 and they were brillant again this weekend, leading to the sweep of Erie, the best hitting team in the EL. They may not be considered “prospects” but they have helped turn the Senators from a bad joke into a team that can compete with any other in the EL.

Ok, so let’s guess the Gluvna headline. I vote for “No Mocking Mock” and “Jumpin’ Jack (Spradlin)”

RS: I had noticed that, particularly after one of the bloggers (could it have been Keith Law) noted how bad the Senators were and how that showed how horribly run the Nats franchise was. That entry was probably in early- to mid-May. They have been quite respectable in June.

I was a little premature in stating they had swept the SeaWolves as they are playing them as I write this. It’s tied in the 11th.

Go Garrett go! Hope to see Mock back at Nationals Park as a starter when Manny and Riz start to manage innings of the other youngsters!
