Smoker & Willems Updates


I got a couple of updates on Josh Smoker and Colton Willems.

  • Smoker is still working his way back from off-season surgery. He is working out down in Florida (he threw today) and the Nats are taking their time to make sure he is 100% at which point he appears likely headed to Hagerstown
  • Willems tweaked an oblique a couple of weeks ago and is going to remain in extended spring training for a couple more weeks. He threw today in Viera. It appears he’ll head to Potomac when healthy

    Brian: quite a long UNASSIGNED list> Would you classify the time period for these players as brass taking time to determine who goes into extended spring and those who may get released or just be in limbo??
