- Friday: Defeated Rochester 6-1 (box/gamer). The Chiefs finished off the sweep of the Red Wings as RHP Shairon Martis evened his record at 2-2, allowing a run on four hits and two walks over 7IP with 6 strikeouts. RHP Victor Garate and LHP Ron Villone pitched the final two scoreless innings of relief. CF Justin Maxwell was 2/5 with a double & two runs scored; LF Leonard Davis was 1/4 with a run scored; RF Kevin Mench was 2/4 with a run & two RBI; 3B Chase Lambin was 2/2 with two walks and one RBI; and DH Josh Whitesell was 1/4 with a double & RBI.
- Saturday: Defeated Toledo 3-2 (box/gamer). RHP J.D. Martin allowed two unearned runs on three hits over 8IP and RHP Joel Peralta earned his twelfth save, striking out two in the ninth inning. SS Pete Orr was 2/4 with two solo homers and Davis was 2/4.
- Sunday: Lost 8-5 to Toledo (box/gamer). Playing shorthanded, Syracuse used a series of relievers in the loss to the Mud Hens. Villone started for the first time since 2004, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 2 1/3IP; RHP Josh Wilkie walked two and struck out three over 1 2/3IP; LHP Jesse English was touched up for four runs on four hits and a walk over 1 1/2IP; RHPs Jason Bergmann & Garate pitched the final two innings, striking out a combined four
Harrisburg
- Friday: Defeated Akron 9-3 (box/gamer). LHP Aaron Thompson scattered twelve hits and three runs over 5 2/3IP. LHP Chuck James made his first relief appearance with a scoreless inning. SS Danny Espinosa was 0/4 with a run scored; 1B Chris Marrero was 2/3 with a homer, two runs & two RBI; DH Jesus Valdez was 2/3 with a double & three runs scored; RF Edgardo Baez was 3/4 with a run & two RBI; and CA Jhonathan Solano was 1/4 with a run, double & two RBI.
- Saturday: Lost 4-3 to Akron (box/gamer). LHP Tom Milone gave up three runs (one earned) on eight hits and two walks over 4 1/3IP; RHP Hassan Pena took the loss, allowing a run on three hits and one walk over 1 1/3IP; and RHP Adam Carr pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, giving up two hits and one walk while striking out one. Marrero was 1/4 with a solo homer; Espinosa was 1/3; Valdez was 1/3 with a solo homer & two RBI; and Martinez was 1/4.
- Sunday: Lost 5-2 to Akron (box/gamer). RHP Erik Arnesen allowed two runs on four hits over 5IP while striking out three. RHP Mike MacDougal took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over 1 1/3IP with two strikeouts; and RHP Zech Zinicola pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Marrero homered for his third straight game; LF Marvin Lowrance was 2/4 with a solo homer; and Espinosa was 0/4.
Potomac
- Friday: Defeated Salem 5-4 (box). RF Michael Burgess was 2/4 with a run & two RBI; 3B Tim Pahuta was also 2/4 with two RBI; and CA Derek Norris was 1/2 with a walk, single, & run scored, but more importantly he took a pitch to the helmet, laying motionless for 10 minutes before being taken to the hospital for observation. He is doing better but is out for the next 7-10 days as he recovers from a concussion. RHP Adrian Alaniz started for the P-Nats, allowing two runs on three hits over 4IP while striking out three; RHP Jesse Estrada picked up the win, allowing two unearned runs on three hits and one walk over 2IP with three strikeouts; RHP Zach Dials made his debut for Potomac, giving up one hit and one walk over 1 2/3IP with two strikeouts; and RHP Martin Beno pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings, walking and striking out two.
- Saturday: Lost 2-0 to Salem (box). RHP Brad Peacock took the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk over 6IP while striking out nine and LHP Clayton Dill pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing three hits. Burgess was 2/4 and Pahuta was 1/4.
- Sunday: Defeated Salem 6-0 (box). RHP Robinson Fabian and two relievers combined on the six hit shutout. Fabian allowed four hits over &IP while striking out five; LHP Evan Bronson gave up one hit in one inning of work; and RHP Cole Kimball allowed a hit and struck out one in his one inning of relief. CF Boomer Whiting was 2/4 with a run scored; Burgess was 0/3 with a run & RBI; 1B Tyler Moore was 2/4 with two doubles, a run & RBI; and 3B Wilberto Ortiz was 1/4 with a homer & two RBI.
Hagerstown
- Friday: Swept Delmarva 10-1 (box) and 9-2 (box). In the first game, RHP Paul Demny struck out six over 7IP, allowing a run on five hits. SS Francisco Soriano was 3/5 with a double, RBI & two runs scored; 2B Dan Lyons was 2/4 with two RBI; 1B Justin Bloxom was 2/3 with a double, run & RBI; LF Destin Hood was 0/3 with a walk & un scored; DH J.P. In the second game, LHP Josh Smoker made the start, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over 4 1/3IP with five strikeouts and RHP Shane Erb picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of hitless/scoreless relief. - Saturday: Lost 2-1 to Delmarva (box). LHP Dan Rosenbaum allowed five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings, while striking out six. RHP Dean Weaver allowed two hits over two scoreless innings; and RHP Kyle Morrison struck out five over four shutout innings of relief. Lyons was 3/6 with one RBI; Hood was 1/6; Ramirez was 1/4; and RF Eury Perez was 1/6 with a stolen base.
- Sunday: Defeated Delmarva 6-3 (box). LHP Mitch Clegg moved to 5-0, allowing a run on six hits and one walk over 6IP with three strikeouts. RHP Wanel Vasquez earned his third save with two scoreless innings of relief. Souza was 2/5 with a solo homer and Hood was 2/4 with a double, run & RBI.

Strasburg is just cruising right now…. I really have my eye on Meyers right now. If he can break out as a #2-4 starter in the bigs, we’d really be further along than predicted.

Has anyone seen Ramirez play? If memory serves me right, the Nats paid 1million to sign him. For that amount, you’d expect him to be putting up exctiting #’s, but i just don’t see it. What is his ceiling?
