Pitching Probables

Now comes the fun part for me.

Trying to get the initial starting rotations for the four full league affiliates and then keeping track moving forward. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to get my arms around it.

Here is what we know so far

Team G1 SP G2 SP G3 SP G4 SP G5 SP
Syracuse Martin Olsen Balester Martis Atilano
Harrisburg Mandel Thompson Milone Strasburg Chico
Potomac Fabian Frias Lehman McCoy Peacock
Hagerstown Rosenbaum Smoker Holder Demny McGeary

I spoke to Daniel Rosenbaum on the Hagerstown staff and the rotation consists of Rosenbaum Smoker Holder Demny Mcgeary

Wish Danny continued success! Just hope Spin Williams doesn’t try to “teach” him anything.

I’ve got tickets to tonight’s game in Altoona but won’t be able to make it. If anyone wants to buy the tickets, let me know. They’re great seats and I’m willing to sell them at face value. All similar seats are sold out.

I should have made that on topic by starting with “Want to see Mandel’s first game?” ;-)

(Hope my post was ok, Brian.)

ps. very agressive with the Fabian opening day start. Sounds like if he ever learns how to pitch he could be a good one

Any update/news on Juan Jaime and his elbow tendonitis? Important year to see if he could maintain success at Potomac.

Is Willems still hurt? Didn’t he have a good season at Hagerstown two years ago?

Yes, Harrisburg’s rotation will have a more immediate impact on the Nats. Strasburgh, of course, and Thompson’s growth and Chico’s recovery – all important. For 2012-13, Hagerstown’s starters are key. We need to see growth, show that Smoker and McGeary progress and that Holder wasn’t a waste of a pick. Very interesting…

Return of the farm teams is a welcome balm to the open sore of the big league club. Would love to see Olsen transform himself into some kind of tradable asset. I root for JD even though I don’t seem him as a part of the big league club’s plans. They didn’t really give him that much of a shot this year in the spring, and I thought he deserved better.

I think JD deserved better too. I suspect that Holder will have a similar attitude about winning games. I am hopeful he will prove not to be a waste of a pick … as apparently were Willems and Smoker (and perhaps Marerro?) up until this point.

    Brian,

I must have missed the entire off-season: I can’t find Brad Meyers on any of the Nats’ minor league rosters.

    Where is he?

Meyers is rehabbing down in Florida from off-season foot surgery
