According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, it’s a done deal …
Clark informed the Braves on Tuesday that he accepted a position as Nationals assistant general manager and vice president of player personnel, with wide-ranging responsibilities that include overseeing player development and all scouting departments, including international scouting.
The next question is what happens to Bob Boone whose title is (was?) Assistant GM & VP, Player Development.
Update: I contacted the Nationals who had no comment about the reported hiring.

Awesome news. I love getting a guy who seems to be able to evaluate HS players. He has a great track record. Rizzo/Clark seems like an amazing combo. here’s to many great picks/IFAs!

I’m watching the PHX Desert Dogs opening game. 1st impressions- Play is a little ragged; Espinosa looks overmatched at the plate; Marrero hit a long blast to center; Wilkie pitched ok. It’s top if the 7th and the DD’s trail 10-4. I’ll be here till Sunday and should see all the games.

And for those of us not lucky enough to be in Arizona, at least MLB has live gameday for the AFL games:

Following the Arizona Fall League makes me appreciate how exciting it will be to have Rizzo, Clark and company groom the Nat’s farm system. The Washington Time’s Zuckerman has a very nice AFL article. Must say, the Time’s baseball page (http://www.washingtontimes.com/sports/baseball/) is worth a definite bookmark. It is one of the best.
