The GCL Nationals defeated the GCL Twins 1-0 in 12 innings to move into the championship round of the GCL (box). The Nats will face the winner of the one-game series between the GCL Marlins & Yankees. The Championship round is best-of-three and begins tomorrow. LHP Josh Smoker would be on his regular turn.
LHP Danny Rosenbaum pitched six scoreless innings, allowing two hits over 6IP while striking out five. RHP Wanel Vasquez struck out three and walked one over 3IP and RHP Ruben De La Rosa picked up the win with three innings of relief, giving up one hit and striking out three.
The GCL Nationals threatened several times but did not push a run across until CA Adrian Nieto’s (1/5) 12th inning single and a Twins throwing error allowed 3B Yeurys Tejeda to score the eventual decisive run. DH Adrian Sanchez was 2/3 and LF Naoya Washiya was 3/4.

Looks like they removed Mike Morse from Syracuse’s roster? I wonder if he was put on waivers and CLAIMED! Then pulled back?

Morse is still on the 25-man roster (http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/team/roster_active.jsp?c_id=was)
I think it was an error with the MiLB site

interesting that GCL Nats get to championship game after the changes this past winter/spring in PD levels. The Dodgers spent money this late season-wow! should be a LHP from the LA for RB deal completion?

Syracuse is close to making the IL playoffs … might even get there … Harrisburg is now just 1 game from reaching .500 after a miserable start. Potomac Advanced A competing for post-season again. GCL makes the playoffs. Just Hagerstown and Vermont are pretty weak standings wise. Guess that may improve as the GCL guys jump to those teams?

Eury Perez, Adrian Sanchez, and Hendry Jimenez are among the players that will be trying for their third straight championships (2 DSL and GCL)

Hopefully the will do the same for Vermont and Hagerstown.

It’s good to have a culture of winning within the organization.
