Update: Just out from the Nationals, “Following today’s game, the Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitcher Jason Bergmann from Syracuse of the Triple-A International League and designated right-handed pitcher Jesus Colome for assignment. Nationals Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Baseball Operations Mike Rizzo made the announcement.”
Bill Ladson has the news that RHP Jason Bergmann is going to be recalled from Syracuse after today’s game. No word on who he will replace but Ladson hints it’s likely to be RHP Jesus Colome.
And on the international front, I have it on good authority that one of the five international players signed by the Nationals is RHP Cleto Cabral. I’ve heard the bonus is in the low six figures (less than $200K).
