Disappointingly few names that I recognise. Am definately looking forward to seeing what Hood, Perez and Washiya can do though – Hood seemed very toolsy (Jimbo!) last year; Perez was arguably the pick of the DSL crop, and Washiya emerged from this year’s draft with a very intriguing resume…..

Would Hood beginning the season in the GCL be considered a disppointment? What is the story with Smoker? He was highly touted in 2007, drafted in the second round, and now plays for the 2009 GCL team!!

Hood in GCL is a development choice. Since he was a two-sport athlete, it was recognized that he was a relatively raw talent.

Smoker is coming back from injury – just like Chico is at low A right now, they appear to be starting him off slowly.

Brian – does this mean Englund is released, or just that he’s not ready for game action in his conversion to the mound?

Ric – I would imagine Englund is in Vlorida working on the conversion to the mound and will not be added to the GCL roster for a few weeks

Wow, that’s a lot of wheels in the OF. No balls getting in the gap between Hood and Perez

I dare any body to drink about six beers then rapidly pronounce that catcher’s name who converted from the infield!!!! LOL!!!! Englund. sandwich pick bust! right up there with BJ Wallace!!!

Speaking of busted picks, what’s up with Stephen King? Allegedly, he has a “strained quadriceps” yet did not leave the game last Monday and has been walking around Woodbridge without a trace of a limp.

Good news from the Rhinehart mafia — .957 OPS in June. Looks like he’s adjusting well to AA pitching.

I noticed Aaron Seuss had an inning of relief work on June 19th. Are they planning on converting him as well, or was this just an emergency situation?

Emergency situation. Same deal as Robby Jacobsen this weekend for the Suns

So Boekhoudt is going to remain a catcher?
