Nice to see you giving Derek Norris a little love. I’m telling you this kid is a future star. I even call him “Little baby Matt Wieters” O’s fans don’t like that so much, but I don’t care. I see this kid as having a big upside. I can see Strasburg pitching to him in Potomac later this summer.

i hope he catches Strasburg in Hagerstown at least one game, lol..then they both can go up together

Im becoming intrigued by Lombardozzi. He’s 20 for the whole year, now hitting 295/387/376 after hitting 283/371/322 in the GCL last year. Hopefully he develops a little more pop, but with how thin we are 2B he could make a name for himself this year.
Combine him with Demny and thats 2 good JUCO picks from last year

new BA mock draft too, still has us on Chad Jenkins passing on Alex White, Green and Shelby Miller.
would not be happy

Bill W.- Why can’t they start at Potomac and come up together? No need to hold Norris back, he’s ready for the P-Nats now.

How does Norris rate on defense as a catcher?
Just asking because the Nats seem to have forgotten that aspect of the game when assembling their roster; as if they are attempting to win the “home run category” in a fantasy league.

Pilchard, Norris was a 3B in high school until his senior year, but BA says he has the tools to learn to catch. In the New York Penn League last season he threw out 47 percent of basestealers, but does not block pitches well. “Some club officials question whether he will stick behind the plate long term.” So someone in the front office isn’t sure he is a catcher. That is from the BA Prospect Handbook.

The problem for Norris is that there is a Logjam at catcher with Solano in AA, Rooney in Hi-A, and Norris in Low-A. The Nats almost need to promote all of them together and just bench the “retreads” they have AAA
