Alex Cintron in DC?

I stumbled upon this blog post from the Lehigh Valley IronPigs beat writer who had this item

…the Nationals also summoned Alex Cintron, who hit third on Monday night, to Washington as insurance in case Christian Guzman needs to go on the disabled list.

The Nationals did remove Leonard Davis from the 40-man but the only move announced last night was the recalling of Roger Bernadina.Bernadina was already on the 40-man so there is a spot open. It could be used for Cintron or held until Monday for Jordan Zimmermann.

With Harris on the DL and Guzman unable to play, the Nats have 3 MI (if you count Ronny Belliard as a MI). The Nats could be in a tough spot if they PH for Gonzales and Hernandez reinjures his hammy. Seems like the Nats will need to make a move if Guzman can not play this weekend.

Brian, BA has a new top fifty up and has Rich Poythress at number 12. What do the sites you scan say about him. He supposedly plays a decent first base, has a great selectivity at the plate and has been crushing the ball now for since last season at UGA.

The bandwagon has jumped on Rex Brothers. He’s put up pretty good numbers, for sure! I don’t see why Kyle Bellamy isn’t in the top 50. His hits and strikeout numbers are second only Strasburg and maybe a couple of others. His walks are too high but they weren’t last year.

Outside the box comment and suggestion: bizarre that a AAA portion Rule V guy ends up in Mexican League loan. Nats have interest in LA Dodger released ( Ole Miss alum) Garrett White for some bullpen duty somewhere???
