Sue: Potomac has performed well this year.
The MLB team could have done more for Trent Jewett and the players. If the Nats organization want their players to bring home championships, they will have to give them a hand.
The GCL team had a steady group with little turnover/roster replacement.

Bronson has been a nice surprise.
Rooting for him to climb to A+ ball next year!

rukidding :

Everyone[sic] of the PNATS starters have struggled down the stretch except Tom Milone. The bullpen has done a good job.

Or Brad Peacock (3.25 in Aug/Sept). But I'd hardly call playing .600 ball a "disappointing finish" - it's just that Wilmington is clicking on all cylinders with not nearly as much turnover of the pitching (read: four starters with 20+ starts vs. two) and more consistency with the starting lineup (seven players with 100+ games on the current roster vs. three).

What's disappointing is that the organization didn't make more (any) effort to fortify the roster for the stretch run to defend the Mills Cup. Too many times the past three weeks the team has been handcuffed by the inability to pinch-hit or pinch-run with only one or two healthy players on the bench.

Hey, while everyone is rightly talking about Drew Storen, has anyone noticed what Vermont Lakemonster Evan Bronson, a lefty reliever from Trinity University (Texas), is doing? I realize it's low minors but, nevertheless, still impressive. Hardly ever gives up a run and seems capable of going more than an inning without losing anything. Not bad for a NCAA D-3-er.

well its not like we are making a move for the playoffs or anything. Also, he would be replacing Christian Guzman at short who himself routinely boots easy plays and has absolutely no range at all. I say give Ian a shot for the remainder of the year, at least that will give you a better idea of what he have in Ian.

"expo_ram :
Not sure what more Desmond needs to prove/do.

I was thinking the same thing"

It would be nice to see Desmond up with the big club. He has hit in AAA, but his defence has been erratic since he was drafted, including this year.

It seems to me that Norris was hit by a pitch back in July, missed a game or two, and that's when his season turned. Maybe just coincidence.

Norris was hot early, way cold late. Even with his defense so-so, he just doesn't hustle. Last nights pass ball he just casually jogged back to the backstop. If he'd get into the game behind the plate, maybe he'd be in the game when he got to bat. Walks are nice, hits are better. Ugh. I'm patiently waiting for the new Suns team next year.....

Norris has really cooled off lately. He's still getting a lot of walks, but it seems as if the catching workload has taken its toll.

Storen is a beast, still has a zero ERA in double A. I like the fact that Norris always finds a way to help the team even when he is struggling at the plate. He had two walks last night and he always seems to keep his OBP up during cold streaks. I will say thought that I have been waiting for him to bust out of this slump forever though. For someone with 23 homeruns on the year its amazing that he has gone so long without one. He hasnt hit one since July. And for Trevor Holder, there was a reason that none of the experts liked that pick when the Nats made it.

Everyone of the PNATS starters have struggled down the stretch except Tom Milone. The bullpen has done a good job. Brian can we make of the performance of Ricardo Pecina since his arrival in Potomac seven innings with a zero ERA. Does he project as a reliever or starter? Noticed that he did make 6 starts in Hagerstown. Overall a good season in Potomac with a disappointing finish.
